Аннотация
Важнейшим проявлением текущего финансово-экономического кризиса в США явилась огромная долговая зависимость федерального правительства. Долг является той ценой, которую американская экономика платит за своё удержание «на плаву». Но пирамида долговой зависимости федерального правительства создаёт угрозу внезапного финансового кризиса, который может наступить в том случае, если величина валового федерального долга значительно превысит ВВП. В настоящее время США вплотную подошли к этому порогу.
