Abstract
The first session of the seminar of the Center for agrarian studies, Russian presidential Academy of national economy and state service under the President of the Russian Federation and the scientific project "People and power: History of Russia and its falsifications" was devoted to a discussion of "law and justice: an alternative solution of the agrarian question in pre-revolutionary Russia" (A. N. Medushevsky) and "the Second Russian time of troubles: a tricky response to the unresolved agrarian question" (D. I. Lyukshin). Original interpretations of the agrarian conflict present new arguments for understanding the causes and results of reforms in the Russian transition society.
