Abstract
The article reveals the essence of the social process of medicalization, examines the specifics of health sociology, identifies advertising communication strategies for creating an image of norm and pathology on the example of a specific disease, and also presents possible negative consequences of these processes for society and self-preservation behavior of an individual.
