The article is devoted to the analysis of the main features of modern Chinese foreign policy. The author writes that Xi Jinping’s judgment about humanity as a community of a common destiny and his “initiative of the Belt and Road” occupy now leading positions in the theoretical basis of China’s activities in the international arena. However, the influence of the views of PRC leaders from previous generations is also traced. The main priority of Beijing in its practical policy is the relations with Washington, which have become noticeably complicated because of the increase of tariffs for goods imported from China introduced on D. Trump's initiative.
