- Abstract
- In this article, for the first time in Russian historiography, an attempt is made to comprehensively study such a little-studied aspect of the initial period of Kuomintang rule in Taiwan, as the mass political repression that struck both the native inhabitants of Taiwan and the mainland immigrants who evacuated to the island after 1949. This phenomenon has been referred to in the literature as the "white terror" (Baise kunbu) in Taiwan. His research is particularly important, given the current acute ideological and political struggle over the future of the"Republic of China".
