- Abstract
- The article analyses one of the works of the Japanese writer Samukava Kotaro, who is little-known in Russia. It describes in detail the genre and the plot of the story «Sagaren Records» and identifies the names of its possible prototypes. It also draws the parallels with Chekhov's book "The Sakhalin Island". The philological analysis provides the translation of many passages from the story in Russian.
