- Abstract
- In the beginning of the Great Patriotic war the majority of Soviet scientists went to the army or were evacuated from Leningrad and Moscow deep into the Soviet Union. During the war all Soviet Orientalists continued to be engaged in scientific and research work. Training of Russian sinologists during the war continued in Moscow, in the eastern region of the Soviet Union and in China. In 1944 the activities of educational and scientific institutions in Moscow and Leningrad were fully recovered. Soviet Sinology continued its successful development.
