- Abstract
- The author reveals the peculiarities of publicizing the Russian-Japanese war of 19041905 in newspapers and magazines that appeared in the rear of an international conflict in which Russia played a key role. He points out that the population of the eastern regions of the empire did not treat the Japanese aggression as “yellow peril”, and often journalists and the public responded respectfully about the eastern neighbors and in a more restrained tones than the rest of Russia. This is, according to the author, the fundamental difference in the supply of information on Russian-Japanese conflict by Far Eastern newspapers to compare with publications in other Russian provinces.
