Abstract
The article deals with the problems of «scientific» and applied geopolitics formation in Argentina in the context of the development of geopolitical studies as an independent field of scientific study. The author pays particular attention to the analysis of its basic concepts and directions that have emerged within the Argentine military political thinking. The conclusion is made about the primary importance of the territorial factor in the development of geopolitical approaches in this country.
