Abstract
The article considers the evolution of the USA policy towards the Czechoslovak emigrant resistance movement on the issue of the recognition of the government in exile under the presidency of Eduard Beneš in 1939–1942. The author highlights the stages of this policy and major difficulties in solving the Czechoslovak question, analyses the position of the American diplomats and statesmen, as well as inner- and foreign-political reasons and factors which influenced them.
