Abstract

The article examines the process of preparation of the non-aggression pact signed by the USSR and China on August 21, 1937. With the help of archival materials of the WUA of the Russian Federation and the RSPI, the main stages of the development of this treaty are analyzed, its various projects are compared, and the evolution of the negotiating positions of both countries in the broad context of their political relations is traced.
