Abstract
Climate change has become in recent years the main focus of State environmental policy of the PRC. China has officially put forward the principle of "common but differentiated responsibilities" under which developed countries must recognize a major share of the blame for the adverse effects of climate change. At conferences on climate change in Copenhagen (2009) and Cancun (2010) China has managed to achieve as a whole the consolidation of its own position.
