Abstract
In 2007, steelmaking in China surpassed the combined output of countries ranked 2-8 in the industry. At the same time, the range of rolled products produced is insufficient, which is compensated by imports. At the same time, iron ore imports are increasing. With high quantitative indicators, there is a technological gap between China and the advanced world level, which is accompanied by energy overruns and environmental pollution.
