Abstract
In the XVIII - first half of the XIX centuries, the process of forming the Russian border on the eastern outskirts of the state continued. Organizational political and diplomatic decisions on the establishment of the state border were implemented with the help of the Trans-Baikal and Amur Cossacks. The Cossacks built the first guards and fortresses, rafted along the Amur River and annexed new territories, guarded their borders, mastered the eastern outskirts of Russia in cultural and economic terms.
