Abstract
The author of the article, which is based on documents, comes to the conclusion that in 1923 - March 1925 when relations between the Soviet Union and Sun Yatsen were established and were being developed, nobody in the Soviet leadership had any notion about Sun Yatsen as a revolutionary, ideologist and practician of Chinese revolution. In higher echelons of Soviet Communist Party and the Comintern there existed some distrust to Sun Yatsen as ordinary militarist. As a result, an extension of financial aid to him, which had been promised in March 1923, was delayed for a year. The article shows how difficult was the process of making decision by the CP Political Bureau to provide Sun Yatsen with weaponry, financial and other assistance and to establish wide range cooperation with him.
