- Abstract
- The privatization in Myanmar was initiated in 1995 after the establishment of Privatization Commission. The author divides the process of privatization into two stages. During the first one which took more than decade, there was very little success except privatization of cinema-halls and small scale properties. But before the parliamentary elections that are to be held in the end of 2010, the military government started the largest in the country's history sell-off of state assets including administrative buildings, port facilities and large equities in the national airlines.
