- Abstract
- The article describes the history of interaction between the Vietnamese and Chinese lunar and solar calendars, which served as symbols of the world-building role of rulers and sovereign statehood. The author points out the differences between the Vietnamese calendar tradition and the Chinese prototype, reveals the meaning of these differences, largely due to political reasons.
