- Abstract
- The article provides a brief historical overview of research on the estimation of comprehensive national power (CNP) of leading States. Special attention is paid to the works of Chinese analysts, whose findings serve as an important tool for the elaboration of national development strategies. The current status and projected growth of the major components of CNP are examined, including armed forces and China's economic growth in the future, especially in competition with the US for regional and global primacy.
