- Abstract
The article explores the correlation, on the one hand, of the English influence on American civilization, and on the other — the uniqueness — «exclusivity» of the latter, which means overcoming this influence by originality. Three stages are distinguished: the colonial period of the XVII—XVIII centuries, when the English influence was the highest; XIX century — rivalry of two liberal capitalist civilizations; the twentieth century, when the United States is pushing Britain from the leading position in the world.
